Me wandering around at a dealer auction.

So, I figured I should write a post and explain what I’m doing here. Cars have been a part of my life for literally my entire life. My dad was in the car business his entire life, starting as a wholesale car dealer and eventually owning some small used car lots and a car rental agency. When I was in grade school he used to pick me up in a yellow Lotus Esprit. Over the years, he had Buick Grand Nationals and 1st generation F bodies and Syclones and Typhoons. Fox body Mustangs. Datsun Zs, just everything that was cool or interesting.

Even before I was old enough to drive, I was buying and working on cars, ATV’s, scooters, motorcycles, whatever. Anything with wheels and an engine. I’ve since owned a bunch of cool cars myself, an MKIV Supra, a veritable fleet of Miatas, every generation of MR2, my own Buick Grand National, and a ton of other stuff. Now I’m a car dealer, and I see a bunch of weird and unusual stuff, and I am constantly reading about car related things.

My MR2 Spyder

Over the years, I’ve developed an appreciation in the unusual side of cars. The rare options, the failed experiments, the one offs, the just plain weird. That’s what I’m here to talk about. Every couple of weeks, I’m going to talk about some unusual car or automotive thing that most people are unaware of. I’m going to try to keep it interesting and unusual without becoming just a blog about totally obscure stuff. Hopefully I can find not just some interesting cars, but some compelling stories.
